Luna is a new astronomical society.
Its goals are simple. Astronomy and science are never boring. They're fun, exciting and stimulating.
Anyone can do science. Anyone can do astronomy. You don't need a University degree or a big, fancy, expensive telescope to get started.
You can do it today. Now. Just go outside and look up. See that big hot ball of gas in the sky? It's a star - our Sun - a huge fusion reactor that powers everything on the planet.
Or the Moon, a big hunk of rock and our nearest neighbour in space. It's the only celestial body that we've visited in person. Is it a dead world, devoid of interest? Do we know everything that there is to know about the Moon? I doubt it.
There's still much to see, much to learn. So why not join in the fun?
The Luna site had to be developed and released quickly - inside a couple of hours over a weekend - so that the owners could quickly see the look and feel of the proposed site. They were after a site that was unique, individual, a site that looked nothing like any of the other local societies.
To achieve the delivery deadlines and customer goals, we decided to try out a range of free web templates so see if any were suitable. The chosen template, Widget by nodethirtythree, hit the mark at the first attempt.
The ugly truth about some web development companies is that they'll use a pre-built, ready-made template for your page and then charge you for developing the code from scratch. We don't think that's very fair. If we use a template then we'll tell you and charge you accordingly.
